Best-Ever Apple Crumble

This is the easiest and most delicious apple crumble recipe we've ever made, fragrant with cinnamon and warm winter flavours. Serve with custard or vanilla bean ice cream.

Ingredients
2kg Granny Smith apples, peeled, halved, cored, each half cut into 6 slices
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Topping
2 1/2 cups oats
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup plain flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
250g chilled unsalted butter, at room temperature

1. First, make the topping. Mix oats, 1 cup sugar and flour in bowl. Add butter; rub in with fingertips until topping comes together in moist clumps. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover; chill.)

2. Preheat oven to 190°C. Spray a rectangular glass baking dish (lasagne dishes is perfect) with nonstick spray. Mix apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup brown sugar in bowl. Transfer to dish. Sprinkle topping over.

3. Bake crumble for about 55 minutes, until topping in lightly brown and crisp. Serve hot.
