Take the kids to Oceanworld Manly

This school holiday period, the staff at Oceanworld are thrilled to present the theme ‘Kids at Oceanworld’, which will run from 22nd December 2007 until 27th January 2008.

Read on to find out what exciting activities will be available for kids during the Christmas Break:


• KIDS’ CLUB:
Sunday - 8:00am – 10:00am
[6th & 20th January 2008: Under 9s, 13th & 27th January 2008: Over 9s]
Bookings are essential for this fantastic experience, for those children who have a real passion for Australian animals.

• FACE PAINTING:
Daily - 10:00am – 11:00am
Face painters will be set up by the Oceanworld Touch Pool and children will have the opportunity to be decorated in marine themes, such as a shark, Nemo the fish, or waves and seaweed!

• MEET THE DIVER:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday - 10:50am
Customers will get the opportunity to meet one of our scuba divers before they jump in and hand feed the enormous Grey nurses sharks, sting rays, turtles and the huge array of other marine animals that reside in Oceanworld’s underwater tunnel.

• OCEANARIUM TUNNEL TOUR:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday - 11:00am
Watch the divers hand-feed the sharks from the prime vantage point of Oceanworld’s underwater tunnel!

• DESERT DWELLERS:
Daily - 12:00pm
Families can enjoy an interactive reptile show on Oceanworld’s upper level, with some of Australia’s most fascinating desert animals!

• TOUCH POOL TALES:
Daily - 12:30pm
Meet the creatures of Oceanworld’s touch pool in this hands-on presentation – and be prepared to get wet!

• KIDS’ MOVIES:
Daily - 1:00pm
Children’s programs and documentaries will be screened in the upstairs auditorium focusing on marine animals, reptiles and invertebrates.

• DANGEROUS AUSTRALIANS SHOW:
Daily - 1:30pm
Enjoy this thrilling live presentation with some of the world's most venomous snakes and spiders, huge pythons and baby crocodiles – then pose for a reptile photo after the show!

• SHARK TUNNEL TOUR & SURFACE FEED:
Tuesday & Thursday - 2:00pm
Wander through Oceanworld while enjoying a guided tour of the 4 million litre oceanarium, then view the underwater frenzy of a surface feed!

• FISHY FACTS & FEED:
Daily - 2:30pm
Listen to some fascinating fishing facts and watch as Oceanworld staff feed tropical fish, cuttlefish and baby sharks.

• LOVEABLE LIZARDS & MORE:
Daily - 3:00pm
Interact with our favourite scaly friends in this hands-on, seated presentation.

• BUGS ‘N THINGS:
Daily - 3:30pm
Children will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Oceanworld’s weird and wonderful invertebrates Oceanworld staff will be available in the upstairs auditorium area to show such creatures as millipedes and giant burrowing cockroaches!

• BIG SCREEN DVD:
Daily - 4:00pm
Relax after your big day at Oceanworld with one of a great range of family movies, including Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid.

• FAMILY SLEEPOVER:
Friday 18th January 2008, 5:00pm Friday – 8:30am Saturday
This exciting evening is an ideal way for the family to do something fun and different together. The sleepover includes an up close and personal torch lit guided tour of the oceanarium, fish feeding, a Dangerous Australian Animals show, a tasty dinner, supper and hearty breakfast, and best of all you get to camp down under with Oceanworld’s fishy friends.

• SHOWS & TOURS FOR KIDS
Wherever possible, Oceanworld’s tour guides and curatorial staff will be presenting shows and tours with a focus on educating and entertaining the children in the audience, with more props and fun facts.

• OCEANWORLD JUNIOR RANGERS
For the first time ever, Oceanworld will be running day time Kids’ Club sessions, where children can participate as Oceanworld Junior Rangers! Activities include caring for the animals, craft activities and a lunch time snack. Bookings are essential.

• KIDS’ SNORKELLING
This unique program is suitable for children age 5 and over and is perfect for the confident swimmer/ocean lover. In a safe and fun environment, children will learn the basics of successful snorkeling, with a focus on developing their skills and confidence so they are free to explore the ocean with enthusiasm and respect.
