The Hunger Games Diet

Jennifer Lawrence sculpted an enviable body training for The Hunger Games, and her trainer Joe Horrigan has revealed her diet secrets, with one of her favourite recipes for staying lean.
A diet that's not strict
Horrigan says Lawrence stuck to her diet because it's wasn't strict, fanatic or excessive. "She said, 'I can do this.' In fact, Lawrence told reporters “I’m miserable when I’m dieting...you can't work when you're hungry, you know?"
Make sure you're not dreading your diet, otherwise you won't stick to it, and you're more likely to binge.
Less calories, less saturated fats, more carbs
Lawrence's diet focused on three main factors: Cap your calories. Reduce the saturated fats. Up the carbs. If you're into high-impact training like the Hunger Games Workout
you need carbs for energy.
One of the best recipes for keeping full, while reducing calories and saturated fat, is this recipe for Broccoli Soup:
Makes 6 cups
3 tbsp olive oil
3 celery stalks, diced
3 large carrots, diced
1 onion, diced
3 large stalks broccoli, diced
1 1/2 litres vegetable stock
In a large pot, heat oil over medium-low heat. Cook celery, carrots and onion until translucent, about 15 minutes. Add broccoli, cook 5 minutes. Add stock. Simmer over medium heat until tender, 15 to 20 minutes. With a blender or an immersion blender, purée soup until creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
