Whether you want to see the big musical flick of the summer or not, this is the most gorgeous set of mini nail polishes I've ever seen! All four shimmery shades - Rising Star, a lustrous bronzey-gold; Take the Stage, a warm copper; The Show Must Go On!, a deep pink and Ali’s Big Break, a glowing claret red - aren't the names just so Broadway too?! I've been a slave to the cheapie nail salons for years but in an effort to save money I've taken to looking after my nails at home now. The cute fabric purse contains nourishing oil (amazing for softening cuticles), nail strengthener which I like to wear on its own for a pretty gloss, hand and nail cream (keep this by your bedside table and smooth on before bed) and a gorgeous hand and foot polish - seriously ladies it's sandals season and there's nothing uglier than tough heels! Tucked away, in a new building complex off Sydney Road, Seaforth is a little bit of urban heaven. In fact, one of several popping up all over Sydney. Urban Spa, by Emma's Secret, proclaims to offer 'the ultimate in holistic skin and body treatments especially designed to release tension, pamper and nurture the whole body, bring tranquility, balance and harmony in your busy life' Do you know what is stranger - they actually do what they claim.
My experience started with a peppermint and lavender foot scrub, this was followed by a coconut body exfoliation where I could actually feel the layers of winter being shed. The exfoliation wasn't intrusive, just cleansing and refreshing. A hot stone back massage was up next - on my scrubbed skin this felt amazing. Just the right pressure and just the right heat in the stones. If you have never had one - you need to get into it! A deeper massage is achieved without the pain, toxins are released and circulation is increased.
Lastly came the Heavenly Spa Facial. OMG. Take the phone off the hook - hands down the best - most amazing facial ever. This is worth going to an Urban Spa just to experience. My skin felt 10 years younger. Even when the scary blue light came out and then the dreaded mirror - did I want to see under the first layer of skin - not really, but it wasn't as scary as I thought. My therapist started to point out sun damage, dehydration and pigmentation spots and this is where the facial came into its own. For a young girl, my therapist was very knowledgeable about skin and its scary dry or oily bits and how to fix them. She talked about what products I was currently using and what I should stop using. While my rose face mask was working its magic she went away and worked out a new cleansing plan for my skin morning and evening. The Urban Spa products are their own - Australian made, created after years of research utilising the combined skin care knowledge of leading beauty therapists, Australia’s top cosmetic chemists and aromatherapists. While going over my new skin routine she made suggestions from their range of what I could be using on my skin. Note the word 'suggestions', she didn't take me over to the counter and sell me one of each product. I left this day spa with one thing I have never achieved before from a treatment and that is knowledge.
