Avon Eyeshadow Quad in Gleam of Gold
It's been a while since we bought Avon but after a recent Avon party I took another look at the products and was really impressed! Especially this eyeshadow quad as part of the new 24K Gold collection. I'm a sucker for anything with real gold but the colours are extremely wearable for all eye and skin colours: I blend the brown and purple for an exotic night time shade while the cream and gold are perfect for a fresh daytime look. Plus the shadows don't crease and the compact feels very expensive.
RRP $29.95. Contact Avon on 1800 646 000 to find your local representative.
ModelCo Lip Plumper Hydra Lip Therapy
I've tried every lip plumper under the sun - some left my lips so sore and irritated that I was peeling off dried skin for weeks. Not very sexy! This lip plumper is a miracle. It's super moisturising and I've replaced all my lip balms with this one lip treatment. It contains a stack of lovely ingredients, like peppermint oil, shea butter, vitamin E and avocado oil. And I adore the full lip look it leaves me with thanks to other cutting-edge ingredients that work with the body’s natural water to plump up the lips. A handbag must-have.

While this week is all about Eat Pray Love, there's another great little movie out there about women searching for fulfillment. Catherine Keener plays Kate, married to her best friend Alex (Oliver Platt) and together they run a successful vintage furniture store in Manhattan. Despite dealing with a sulky teenager daughter and a misfit neighbour, Kate yearns to help the world, donating money and leftover meals to the homeless to looking into volunteer opportunities. And as with many middle class, middle age women, her compassion simply overwhelms her, and she's trapped in inertia and guilt.
Meanwhile the misfit neighbour Rebecca (Rebecca Hall) is trying to make a place for herself, caring for her cantankerous grandmother and overshadowed by her bratty sister, secretly yearning to be recognised by the outside world and find love.
It's a quirky navel-gazing kind of movie with lovely scenes of family life, and Upper East Side Manhattan. Makes you want to call your family afterwards and tell them you love them, but in a nice way.
