Is it ever ok to lie about your age?

British model and style icon Agyness Deyn revealed she's actually 29 when she's been telling people she's 23, and The Help actress Jessica Chastain says she's 30 but her Wikipedia page reveals she's 35.

So is it ok to shave a few years off and if so, would you do it for a relationship, for a job...? Or should you be proud of your years? We'd love to know!

I think if you can get away with it and it doesnt affect anyone else, then go for it. I turn 40 this year and am proud of that fact, so personally I wouldnt lie.

Its faulse. To me a lie is a lie. Its bad.

How can you live truly, when you are living a lie?
Unless your a very good actress, and you think it will make you more popular saying your younger- then go for it, but i find it funny they will always be found out eventually..so why do it?

I don't lie about my age but unless its truly relevant to the conversation, I don't disclose my age either. I think its rude to demand people tell you their exact age when its attitude and cofidence that really matter

When it is demanded on a job app or a competition app I don't believe they have the right to an honest answer.

Agreeing 100% with bluemetal. I don't disclose my age either....unless I have to for medical reasons etc.

The two ladies quoted are in an industry that has preconceptions about women and age. It is those preconceptions that we should be outraged about, not the women trying to do their best in a hostile atmosphere.

For the record, I don't lie. It takes too much energy away from finding happiness. And my age is my age. It's not like I can change it, so why bother?
