Tatts after break-ups: good idea or bad?

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly gotten another tattoo. According to People.com Lohan, who broke up with girlfriend Samantha Ronson two weeks ago, got a Marilyn Monroe quote inked on her wrist last week. It says, "Everyone's a star and deserves to sparkle."

So what do you think of break-up tatts? Good idea or bad? I like the idea of getting something that reminds you to draw on personal strength when times are tough but I don't know if I would want something inked on my body forever that reminded me of an ex!

I got a break-up tatt! This was 5 years ago. I'm actually really glad I had the foresight then to get something tattooed on a part of my body that I don't look at often (it's on my lower back) and it's of a violin and music, something that will always be a part of my life.

Phew. Thank God!

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone though. It hurt like crazy, because it was rather large. I was planning on getting more then, I'm glad I didn't pull through with it.

This has got to be a bad idea right?! I mean, I could not imagine anything worse than getting a tattoo that signifies a break up. I would hate to have a reminder of my ex on my body. In fact, I wish I could erase him from my memory all together!
