So, I was wondering if anyone has any beauty/makeup products or tools that you could absolutely not live without!

I've thought about mine, and it boils down to:

- Too Face Eye Shadow Insurance - the best eye primer I've come across yet.
- Aveeno Positively Radiant Facial Moisturiser - this product is divine, and I'm sure most Shesaid readers who have trialled the Aveeno products would agree!
- Prestige Skin-Loving Minerals foundation powder - my HG foundation!
- Bloom 10-set brush kit - An excellent brush set that meets all my needs. Yay!
- Shu Uemura eyelash curler - probably one of the best out there?

Blanche d'Alpuget back in the spotlight - what do you think?

Anyone with ANY recollection of the Hawke years would attribute at least some of the man's political success to Hazel, not to mention her effective promotion of fundraising for breast cancer research.

And Blanche is famous for, erm, um, not much, apart from snagging a former PM in his decline? And self-promotion, of course.

History might be written by the winners, but there are a lot of people who try and follow ALP politics in this country (a blood sport, really) who think that Blanche is not in the winner's circle.

Permanent make-up - would you try it?

Permanent make-up is all the rage at the moment. We're talking about getting your lipliner, eyebrows or eyeliner tattooed on!

Permanent make-up originated from the Egyptians and initially the technique used a bamboo needle and the colours available were only black and brown.

Thankfully it has advanced since then but what are your thoughts on the trend. Is it a do or a don't? Would you want to have lip liner on ... forever?

Uncomfortable around my partner's wealthy family

My partner and I have been together for 2 years now. We are both gay and when she came out to her family, they pretty well disowned her. Her parents and extended family on her mother's side are both religious and very wealthy, making family functions and events with them uncomfortable to say the least. I was raised in a single-parent, lower-class home without many luxuries. My mother worked her tail off to provide what we had and I'm forever grateful for her hard work and what her sacrifices taught me about money and possessions. My partner on the other hand, was raised surrounded by expensive items, went to an exclusive all-female boarding school and was still getting weekly allowances from her parents until a couple of years ago. Her mother even transferred $1000 to my partner's bank account to take care of some emergency car issues that we had the money for! This made me feel very uncomfortable - I would never ask my family for that sort of money and would certainly never expect it to be given to me as a matter of due course. Family functions are no different and often take place in her aunt's mansion (complete with backyard tennis court and pool, marble floors, cathedral ceilings and a big screen plasma TV in every room). Her cousins are often dressed to the nines in Chanel, Prada and god knows what else while I'm in the corner with my $15 Kmart shoes. When I make any attempt to engage with them, answers are often short. To make matters more awkward, I'm an expat and she'

Has anyone tried IVF?

Celine Dion has reportedly had a miscarriage.

Friends of the singer and her husband have confirmed the 41-year-old is not currently pregnant, despite the couple’s announcement in August that they were expecting their second child following a successful cycle of IVF.

Celine – who also has son Rene-Charles, eight, with her 67-year-old husband – first started trying for another child in 2007. She consulted a fertility expert who suggested using a festilised egg she had harvested in 2001.

Such sad news for the couple. IVF is a huge part of many women's lives now. Does anyone have any experiences to share?

Free state of the art cancer treatment with an overseas holiday thrown in

This is Junes story - "I was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour 2 yrs ago. Given a matter of months to live. Saw a story on a man who had travelled to USA with his wife for treatment. rang him and he helped me get Cyberknife in Malaysia. 1 day of treatment, no drugs, no pain, no side effects and i was back at work the next week. 2 yrs on and no sign of cancer. 2 things to mention. 1 - Cyberknife is available world wide but not in Australia. Why? Are we not worthy? India has it.... I joined a group on Facebook - Bring Cyberknife to Australia. I urge everyone to join and sign the petition to be presented in parliament.
2 - The man that helped me is close to losing his house. He's a single dad of 2 youngsters. He was denied funding from the Gov't from a fund set up for people required to go overseas for treatment not available here yet he is helping people weekly get this free state of the art treatment overseas even though he wasnt allowed. I set up a petition to force the Gov't to reverse their decision. Please sign it also. Thanks June"
www.lobbyingforum.com/

Now the treatment June had can be obtained free under a federal Gov't program set up for this purpose. Free airfares for 2 , accom, treatment, and more.

To scent or not scent - that is the question?

As one of the Shesaid Beauty Bloggers I am keen to find out what others think of the "fragrance free" moisturisers. I am usually mad about beauty creams that feel and SMELL gorgeous. I am not one that usually buys anything that has "fragrance free" on it. Previously I would have always asked why wouldn't you want a cream to smells delicious as well as be good for you?

I love those creams with citrus, lavender, or peppermint in them but my ultimate favourite is coconut! I buy anything with a coconut scent to it!

Call me crazy, but the Aveeno "fragrance free" moisturisers have a certain appeal as it does mean you can "cream up" then apply your perfume and it let's your perfume scent combine with your own scent to give you a unique smell. I do have to say I like it but will always have a soft spot for a cream that does smell yummy as well as feels yummy.

So it's up to you chicks - to scent or not scent - that is the question?

Should women age naturally?

Nelly Furtado has blasted Madonna over her reluctance to age naturally.
The 30-year-old singer insists she won’t try to make herself appear younger in order to boost her career and would rather enjoy tea and biscuits than undertake a gruelling exercise regime.

She said: “I am not ready to adjust physically, just to be marketable. My sell-by date will run out eventually. Unlike Madonna, I wouldn’t be willing to do Pilates round the clock, just to slow down the deterioration of my body. I prefer to sit in the kitchen, drink tea and eat biscuits.”

What do you think? Should women age naturally or is it okay to get a little help?

"Don't call her Mummy!"

It does sound bitter and angry. But then we really don't know the circumstances. Maybe the father was previously trying to "oust" the mother out of the child's life.
For the Family Court to even get involved there must have been one almighty battle in the FC already. Let's face it, not all parents "play fair".

When my ex and I split, our youngest was 9 and after starting to go out with a new girlfriend he started running me down to her, in front of our son. He seemed to have this great idea that they would make a "happy family" and the only person standing in their way was me!
He began pushing his new girlfriend onto our son, insisting she look after him, telling him she was angry with him when he didn't do what he wanted and telling him she was going to be his new stepmother. This was a whole six weeks after they started going out and only a week or two after she met our son. (I'm actually not sure that his girlfriend actually knew any of this was going on)

Our son got very distressed. He was waking up at night crying and started refusing to go around to his father's house. In the end we went to a Family Relationship Centre for mediation (FRC's are the first step LONG before any FC involvement these days). They did a Child Consultation as part of the process. In the end my ex realised that he was not going to gain anything playing these type of games and he backed right off. Once he stopped pushing our son settled down again.
It looks really promising, I've only been able to find one review on it, and it sounds simple to use. I'm just a bit worried that they haven't quite perfected the technology for home use as yet... maybe I should wait till the technology advances before owning one of these!
Certainly sounds much more convenient than my epilator. And permanent too!
